    Na sdarovie!!!
    Which is Russian for 'Cheers!'

I don't know why I am saying that as my housemates are primarily Lithuanian, which is different. Possibly because a vast amount of vodka has been involved.

Anyhoo, it is now 03.49 and myself, plus my 2 aforementioned Lithuanian, plus one Turkish and one South African have extended the 5 minute chat that began at 21.34 into an epic rambling chat about nothing much but lasted for 6 hours via the miracle of boooooze. Before I collapse sideways into bed I thought I’d update my journal.

I am now working in Stevenage (about 20 min north of London ) as a mental health therapist (oh the irony). All is well & I am possibly a little drunk. In a spate of drunkenness my Turkish housemate has registered for the Bizarre Ball. I’m sure she will have lots of fun.

    Urrah!!

(which is Russian for ‘horary’ – I don’t know why I say this housemates are primarily Lithuanian, which is different. Possibly because a vast amount of vodka has been involved).

I love you all & may the Dancing Alcohol Nymph keep you safe from her ugly 23 stone sister the Hangover Fairy who, would grind you skull beneath her mighty New Rock boots if given the chance.

    URRAH!!! I say!

    WINTERMUTE LIVES!!!
Hi all. I have been very lazy in updating my LJ, so here is a brief annual update.

Things are in a much better place for me in September 2009 than they were in September 2008

I’m living up in Stevenage now and working as a therapist in a medium secure psychiatric unit. That I am located within a mental health hospital comes as little surprise to those who know me, the only perplexing part being that I have been given a set of keys so I can come and go as I please.

Stevenage is pretty close to London & I have crash space is available with a gothy friend in north London, so I’m in a much better position to head down to the big city for nights out

My plans for the year ahead are to revamp my life a bit.

Summer of 2010 will be my best chance to cycle across America. Planning is now underway, though the potential spanner in the works will be if my company will be willing to hold my job open for me for the 3 months I’d be away, and if not – how the job market is faring.

In the mean time I’m off to Portugal for a week & the Bizarre Ball in October.

Shall anyone else be joining us?

Hope you are all good in LJ land

    Excellent
I've just watched 'Moon' at the cinema, and although I'm very forgiving of most films (Terminator Salvation was fun, so was Star Trek - but nothing more).

'Moon' is on par with the Bladerunner / Ghost in the Shell level.

Frankly I'd forgotten what excellent story telling can come from cinema

    Happy Birthday Simon Otella!
Who has been trying to evade the FBI for a number of years now by living under several assumed identities, such as 'Mr Jon' a humble school teacher, as well as an Eve Online Space Pirate & City of Heroes Superhuman.

A friend posted this, and although I generally avoid such things, it's a pretty nice & uplifting story.

    FRANKLYN (2009)
Set in contemporary London and a future metropolis dominated by faith, Franklyn weaves the tale of four lost souls divided by two parallel worlds on course for an explosive collision when a single bullet will decide all their fates.

Pay it Forward (whatever the hell that means)
"Pay It Forward: I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment here on my LJ.

I don’t yet know what that gift will be - it could be anything: cloth, metal, paper, wood, a song, anything goes - but you will receive it within 365 days.

The only thing you have to do in return is "pay it forward" by making a similar agreement on your blog."

Post with your address as well so I can send it! (I've no idea what 'it' will be - but I'll try to not make it crappy!)

You do not feel nervous in social situations, and have a good impression of what others think of you. You tend to prefer short-term pleasures and rewards over long-term consequences. You enjoy some excitment and risk taking in your life. You prefer familiar routines and for things to stay the same. You can tend to feel uncomfortable with change. You are tenderhearted and compassionate, feeling the pain of others vicariously and are easily moved to pity, however you believe that a certain amount of deception in social relationships is necessary. You are guarded in new relationships and less willing to openly reveal the whole truth about yourself. You take your time when making decisions and will deliberate on all the possible consequences and alternatives. Our test concludes that you actually are far superior to those arround you and it is time they worshipped you as their God for the previliage you have shown by allowing them to add you to their online 'friends' list.

Hmmm - I'm not sure about a test that asks you what your 'star sign' is, and also scores self confidence as 'immodisty' and adds it to neurotisim (have you ever met a goth/alt scene person who didn't consider themselves superior to the common herd?), none the less the core conclusion it reaches is that I am you God.
